A New Chapter for the Gault Nature Reserve!
The Gault Nature Reserve is proud to play an active role in the transition toward more responsible and sustainable tourism. As part of the Plan Montagne for the Montérégie tourism region, we are helping to energize the regional tourism ecosystem while strengthening its resilience in the face of climate, economic, and social challenges.
The Plan Montagne aims to support concrete initiatives for sustainable tourism, including:
- developing a four-season tourism offering;
- strengthening local supply chains;
- promoting Québec-made products;
- encouraging the adoption of responsible practices by tourism businesses.
In this context, we submitted a strategic project designed to:
- enhance the welcome experience for visitors;
- promote regional tourist attractions;
- adapt our infrastructure to growing attendance and sustainable development principles;
- expand our range of educational and cultural services.
Phase 1 – In Progress (2025)
Work on the first phase began a few weeks ago at the Welcome Centre:
- redesign of the reception desk;
- creation of a reimagined agri-tourism boutique showcasing local products;
- modernization of the mountain's 3D model;
- development of a new conference space to enrich the visitor experience.
Phase 2 – Coming Soon (2026)
In 2026, the second phase of the project will include:
- a new educational exhibit on the minerals of Mont Saint-Hilaire;
- exterior improvements to the Welcome Centre, including a permanent kiosk space for local agri-tourism businesses and regional artists.
A Collective Effort
We warmly thank all our partners and collaborators for their commitment to this exciting initiative. With their support, we are helping build a more sustainable tourism future, rooted in the values of our region.
